Gertz: Tone of Spirit

This solo bass recording is dedicated to those bassists that are gone, but left their indelible signature voices on recordings. I like to refer to this as a sonic signature. Jimmy Blanton, Charles Mingus, Milt Hinto, Ray Brown, Paul Chambers, Slam Stewart, Sam Jones, Charlie Haden, N.H.O.P., Jimmy Garrison, Red Mitchell, Percy Heath, Oscar Pettiford, Tommy Williams, Wilbur Ware, Bob Crenshaw, Scott LaFaro, Jaco Partorius, Donald "Duck" Dunn, James Jamerson, and others. Though they've gone, their Tone of Spirit will live on.
