Concerto No. 3 - Four Scenes after Picasso by Frank Proto
Product Description
Concerto No. 3 was composed between December 1996 and April 1997 and premiered during the 1997 ISB Convention by Francois Rabbath.
Each of the four movements reflect a famous Picasso painting: Cat Catching a Bird; Weeping Woman; First Steps; and The Charnel House. Proto incorporates some rather conventional forms but uses them loosely. Each movement depicts either Proto's literal translation of what he saw in the painting or what he imagined might exist beneath the surface.
