Ovidiu Badila: The Memorial Recordings

Ovidiu Badila began to study music at the age of six in Romania, and was soon successful thanks to his exceptional talent. On the wake of the examples of Joseph Prunner, the famous Austrian profesor of the Bucharest Conservatory, and of his disciples Yoan Goilav and Wolfgang Guttler, he left his native country and gained international renown, winning numerous prizes. Lessons with Sergiu Celibadache, whom he met in 1987, helped him perfect his playing. Badila is an active concert performer, and from 1991, a professor of the Staaliche Hochschule fur Musik of Trossingen in Germany. Ovidiu had recently started teaching at the Musik-Akademic der Stadt Basel in Switzerland before his untimely death in 2001.
