The Wolf and Struct
By Claus Freudenstein and Thomas Hartmann
For double bass or electric bass and piano, and can be played as a solo piece. Piano accompaniment parts included for solo and orchestral tuning, and there’s even an easier piano part for less experienced pianists. “The Wolf” was inspired by the composer’s travel through wooded areas to Ithaca College and the 2017 ISB Convention. “The wolf gliding through the dense woods with its yellow sparking eyes…” “Struct” is short for “Construction,” and this particular construction is based on the rhythm of the rock hit “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple. Suitable, as well as lots of fun, for younger players, it is listed in the repertoire list for the German Jugend Musiziert competition.
